como está bom de ver, o programa de hoje teve apenas uma hora... estágio para o feriado que se avizinha!

Freeze! : Polvo - In Prism

Passaram-se 12 anos desde a ultima gravação dos Polvo...
Antes do lançamento desse ultimo disco, Shapes, surgiram rumores de que a banda iria acabar, pois os seus membros principais, os dois vocalistas e guitarristas Dave Brylawsky e Ash Bowie andavam ocupados com outros projectos.
E esses rumores provaram corresponder à realidade, até dia 8 de Setembro, 2009.

In Prism chega às lojas de discos e marca não só a reunião dos ícones do math rock dos anos 90 (sem o baterista principal, Eddie Watkins... este foi substituído por Brian Quast, antigo baterista dos Cherry Valence) mas também o seu regresso à editora Merge.

Já no ano anterior eles tinham ameaçado voltar, aquando do seu concerto no mundialmente conhecido festival All Tomorrows Parties... E desde esse concerto, começaram a trabalhar juntos para o lançamento deste novo disco, In Prism.

Os anos que estiveram afastados, parece que não passaram por eles, pois a sua sonoridade mantém todas as suas características. Notam-se as influências de grandes bandas que evoluíram desde os 90's até hoje e que também sempre centraram o poder dos seus temas nas guitarras, como os lendários Sonic Youth ou Dinosaur Jr. que fazem parecer todas estas novas tecnologias completamente dispensáveis na criação de boas músicas e de grandes álbuns!

É certo que não se ouve neste disco nada que não se tenha ainda ouvido, quer em termos de composição das músicas, quer em termos de sonoridade. Ainda assim, este disco consegue ser diferente de tudo o que tem saído nos últimos anos, talvez precisamente pela ausência de instrumentos electrónicos e digitais que foram, em inúmeras bandas um caminho de evolução e crescimento.
