PAUS + HEALTH, Santiago Alquimista – 1 de Junho 2010

PAUS!

Os Santos Populares estão já ali ao virar de umas cervejas e os PAUS deram um arraial de porrada nas gentes. Que poder e que potência. Quando se soube que o punk de mangas arregaçadas dos Vicious 5 se ia juntar às baquetas em punho de Linda Martini e If Lucy Fell a coisa só poderia dar ou para o torto ou em energia (cinética). Felizmente que deu a segunda hipótese. Correndo o risco de não estar a puxar muito pela memória (e ainda na ressaca do concerto), poucos projectos nacionais me parecem (de momento) tão interessantes quanto os PAUS - não patentearam nada de novo nem descobriram a pólvora - é um facto, mas a mistura sonora é merecedora de cardápios à chefe Michelin. Só para balizar, a espaços parecem os Battles (na matemática, mas simples) e até os Tortoise (na trigonomia de ângulos rectos)! Agora está na altura de confessar que o primeiro single (Mudo e Surdo) não me encheu as medidas, mas que os “zum zums” das prestações ao vivo eram favoráveis – agora, e depois da malha que levei, posso confirmar, não só os “zum zums”, mas também que, ao vivo, os PAUS não só crescem, como se revelam um projecto com pernas para andar. Bateria(s), teclados e baixo! A guitarra, aqui, é só para meninos e o suor é para todos! Se faz favor…“É UMA ÁGUA” - está para sair e que venha cheia de gás!

HEALTH!

Depois do paté de sardinha chegou o prato principal! Os californianos HEALTH, só com dois discos, já marcaram uma posição, mas ainda há por ai muita review ao disco de estreia e a Get Color com mais referências a Boredoms e a Liars do que ao lugar que os HEALTH conquistaram – com mérito. Não faz confusão a ninguém e muitos menos ao quarteto californiano a comparação que nem é nada descabida, afinal há o ruído, há a loucura, há a “canção”…há até um cheiro de Loveless, há as camisas e boa disposição de Parker Lewis, há Tarot Sport (quero lançar aqui o repto aos Fuck Buttons para remisturarem HEALTH) e há identidade, muita! A barafunda é das grandes, mas nada é por acaso. No Santiago Alquimista (não muito cheio) Get Color foi rei. O quarteto dedicou o tempo a explorar as distorções (para cima de muitas!) do segundo disco e apenas a curtos espaços espreitou para fora de Get Color. Severin, Die Slow ou In Heat não faltaram. Houve pouca comunicação, foram lá para tocar e quem foi, foi para ouvir a electrónica disfarçada de rock sujo ou vice-versa. Não raras vezes a voz pareceu açúcar e poucas vezes o ruído pareceu descuidado. Em Dia da Criança, os HEALTH não brincaram, logo volto ao local para montar uma pista de carrinhos e um castelo de Lego – a casa ficou uma barafunda!
