Destaque Freeze! Pissed Jeans, "Honeys" (Sub Pop 2013)

Se há título que bem ilustre o paradoxo entre a realidade da vida e a realidade da música, "Honeys" constitui certamente um óptimo exemplo. Se há conceito que bem resuma a essência da última produção dos Pissed Jeans, banda norte-americana da Pensilvânia que se estreou em 2005 com o álbum "Shallow", será certamente o conceito de paradoxo.

O quarteto que assina pela Sub Pop desde 2007, constituído actualmente por respeitáveis pais de família, continua fiel a um som que em nada adocicou, fiel à sua filiação no punk hardcore e impermeável a critérios de modas ou carreira. 

"Honeys", álbum produzido por Alex Newport, que também já tinha deixado a sua marca no anterior "King of Jeans", oferece-nos o paradoxo constante entre o belo e o horrível, construído através de narrativas que mostram vislumbres do lado negro da vida, como "Bathroom Laughter" e "Healthplan" bem ilustram, e através de ritmos que ficam no ouvido - "Loubs" cola-se à memória de forma insidiosa.

São composições intensas e concisas que visam inspirar terror e angústia enquanto se abana a cabeça com enorme prazer, estas que integram aquele que a crítica já considera o melhor trabalho de sempre dos Pissed Jeans.

Merecida é, indubitavelmente, a escolha para destaque Freeze! que vai dar a escutar "Honeys" ao longo desta semana, entre as 14h e as 15h, no Fahrenheit 107.9.
