Destaque "Freeze!": (Los) Melvins - Tres Cabrones [Ipecac Recordings, 2013]

30 anos depois, “Tres Cabrones” marca o regresso de Mike Dillard ao seio dos Melvins. É caso para citar o site da própria banda, onde o retorno de Dillard ao kit de bateria mostra o trio com o alinhamento “mais próximo possível dos Melvins em 1983”. Na altura (1984), Dillard foi substituído por Dale Crover, que continua a integrar os Melvins, mas desta feita passa para o baixo, a somar ao omnipresente Buzz Osborne, que nas suas próprias palavras, escreveu todos os temas propositadamente com esta formação em mente. Assim, “Tres Cabrones” é o primeiro disco oficial dos Melvins em que figura Dillard, baterista original do grupo, visto que anteriormente este apenas poderia ser ouvido em demos, compilações ou bootlegs.

A rigor, este é também já o segundo álbum que os norte-americanos editam em 2013, depois do álbum de versões revelado em Abril último, “Everybody Loves Sausages”. No cômputo geral, este é já o 19º disco de originais da prolífica formação liderada por Buzz Osborne, e que mantém intactas tanto a importância como a influência que os Melvins detêm no panorama do rock actual.

Um trabalho onde o humor negro e o deboche andam, mais uma vez, de mãos dadas, como se pode comprovar desde logo pelo nome com que a banda se apresenta (“Los Melvins”), quer pelo nome do disco em si ou ainda em temas como a inaugural “Doctor Mule”, “Tie My Pecker To A Tree”, “Dogs And Cattle Prods” ou até “99 Bottles Of Beer”.

Um disco saído na passada Terça-feira, 5 de Novembro, como sempre com selo da editora detida pela dupla Greg Werckman e Mike Patton, a Ipecac Recordings, e que pode ser ouvido de Segunda a Sexta no éter da Rádio Universidade de Coimbra, como parte do destaque “Freeze!” do Fahrenheit 107.9, como sempre entre as 14:00 e as 15:00.
